Humming Along Stained Glass Card

Nothing says spring like colourful birds and flowers! This card is the perfect kick off to the season. The Stained Glass technique uses heat embossing, Vellum cardstock, and Stampin' Blends to create a bold effect that you'll love.

The line art images in the Humming Along stamp set are perfect for this technique and the soft floral designs from the Botanical Butterflies Designer Series Paper are a perfect backdrop. Be sure to get your paper before Sale-a-Bration ends!

Cut Paper

Cut Botanical Butterfly paper to 3-3/4" x 5". Die cut with Layering Circles Framelits. Cut Basic Black with largest and Whisper White and Vellum with second largest circles. Card body uses Basic Black 5-1/2" x 8-1/2". Score at 4-1/4" on 8-1/2" side.

Heat Emboss

Rub Embossing Buddy over Botanical Butterfly paper and Vellum circle. Stamp greeting at bottom right with VersaMark ink. Cover with Black Stampin' Emboss Powder. Tap off excess. Emboss with Heat Tool. Repeat steps to stamp hummingbird on Vellum circle and heat emboss.

Colour

Colour front of embossed Vellum hummingbird with brush tip of Stampin' Blends. Allow top of wing to dry and colour again for darker effect. Colours used: Dark/Light Bermuda Bay, Light Real Red, Dark Daffodil Delight, Dark Pumpkin Pie, and Dark Old Olive.

Assemble

Add 4" x 5-1/4" Bermuda Bay and Whisper White to card front and inside. Adhere Butterfly paper to card. Add SNAIL behind coloured portion of vellum. Layer onto Whisper White and Basic Black circles. Fold ribbon behind circle. Adhere with Stampin' Dimensionals.
