Stampin'Up! in New Westminster

Everyone was able to pick up their catalogues last night and have fun doing it. The tag on the left is the one we made at the Fall~Winter 2007 Collection party last night. It was inspired by the tag I made on the right at Clipper Street's Spring Fling. We used the Priceless set on an ordinary mailing tag with Close to Cocoa and Soft Sky. The middle panel of black was stamped with Pretty in Pink Craft ink and the edges smeared with Whisper White. Gingham and Organdy ribbons were done 'luggage tag' style through the top hole. For the butterfly it was stamped in Basic Black on Pretty in Pink cardstock and cut out. Underneath that is the same butterfly image stamped in Soft Sky ink on Soft Sky cardstock. We bent the cut out butterfly and just glued his body. Viola! We had a really nice group of women last night. All images copyright Stampin'Up! We also made a card with the Pick a Petal set and the rhinestone brads which is pretty self explanatory and was also a bit fussy with all the cutting.

I'm seeing STARS

I think I was feeling nostalgic for Ruby Red, River Rock, Soft Sky and Bayou Blue when I started this set. I wanted to create something not at all feminine but it didn't turn out as particularily masculine. I only had scraps of River Rock and was lacking in matching ribbon as well so it was a bit more challenging than I anticipated. I planned to use a the inks that matched and a stamp set I really like and have been hanging on to since Spring 2008 {pictured below} but once I got my Big Shot and my Stars #2 Die out all the plans changed. This set was offered with a 5"x5" little album and papers and cardstock stickers in Pumkin and Olive and Bashful Blue which I also still have a few pieces left from now that I think about it. I feel some more inspiration coming on. I enjoyed the kit so much because I made a lovely little album for my elderly cousin Eda with a collection of photos from her yearly family picnics.
